Here are some of the questions we are often asked, and the answers.
Why should I fix stone chips on my car?
Stone chips invite rust, so you want to repair them as soon as possible. They look unsightly, and lower the value of your car. If you plan to sell or trade in your car, you will get more money for it if the paint is in perfect condition.
What do I do about the rust in the chips?
We offer a ChipFixx kit that includes Rust Remover! You apply it with a cloth, wait a minute or two, then clean it off with a cloth dipped in another solution! If it doesnt all come out the first time, repeat.
What types of kits do you have?
We have three different ones, the Basic Kit has all that you need to repair stone chips, there’s nothing else to buy. It has our custom mixed paint, thinners, leveling solution (that is the key to the whole process!), disposable gloves and cloth, brush, paint pic as well as complete instructions. We have a Rust Remover Kit that has the solution mentioned above, as well as everything else in the Basic Kit. We offer a Detailer Kit that contains everything in the Basic Kit plus wax, wax removal cloth, scratch removal compound and a sponge. We have a Total Kit that contains everything in the Basic, Rust Remover and Detailer kits. If you wish to purchase paint only, we can supply just paint. We can customize a kit for you as well.
What if I have an antique car, can you provide paint for it?
In most cases we can. We would need a paint code or need to know the name of the colour. If it’s not the original paint, then we need to know the paint code or what year, make and model car had that paint colour.
Why is ChipFixx any better than another type of chip repair method?
Our kits include paint that is mixed according to the paint code on your vehicle, ensuring a correct colour match. Dabbing sticks can’t do that. We include everything you need to do the repair yourself, there is no need to go to the local hardware store to purchase anything extra. Ours is the only complete system we have found. Yes there are other companies selling kits that are somewhat similar, but they don’t include everything you need. There will be a trip to the store for solutions or a brush or disposable gloves. We wanted to include everything you could need, in one box, ready to go.
